Singapore, a sovereign city-state and island country in Southeast Asia, lies at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. It is located about 137 km (85 miles) north of the equator and consists of one main island along with 63 smaller islets. The total land area of Singapore is approximately 728.6 square kilometres (281.3 square miles). Despite its compact size, Singapore boasts a vibrant population of about 5.9 million people, making it one of the most densely populated countries in the world. The city-state is renowned for its rapid development, diverse culture, and global financial hub, blending modernity with rich heritage. Additionally, Singapore is celebrated for its lush greenery and innovative approach to sustainable urban living, often referred to as a “City in a Garden.”
